Susan
McCormick is an experienced fundraiser, writer,
and editor with a strong sense of organization and management. Susan is
currently Director of Communications in the development department at
The Abington Friends School,
a 300-year-old, K-12 Quaker school. She is also a project manager for
Biomedical Statistical Consulting, which handles clinical trial design,
data analysis, and FDA submissions, specializing on clinical devices.
Earlier, she was in the development office at The Bethesda Project, a
non-profit group providing housing for the homeless in Center City Philadelphia.
She has held administrative positions at Centocor, Physician Verification Services, and Marriott Hotels, and has shouldered online editorial responsibilities for BioNetWork and for SB HealthCast, SmithKline Beecham's Web publication for consumers. In print, Susan has been an editor for The Biotechnology Report, the Journal of Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke, the Journal of Epilepsy, the Journal of Clinical Neurophysiology, Travel Weekly, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, and Design Engineering.
Susan graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1979, with a degree in psychology and English.
Susan particularly enjoys event planning and organization, and has chaired a number of Main Line fundraisers and non-profit celebrations. She is experienced in creating and managing databases of clinical information, and clearly is a direct and first-rate writer with a deep background in managing specialized communications.
